Dear 104:

This is a reminder to hand in your Lit. FAs by tomorrow. Like before, I'll die at your hands if you don't hand it in. My ghost will come back to you and haunt you for the rest of your lives, calling you a mean, mean, sadist. You don't want me to die right?! -sobs-

With much love,
Jia Min.

Well, technically, that wasn't posted by me. It was the sadist side of me. But yeah please hand in your FAs by tomorrow!

By becoming a World Vision child sponsor, you can make a lasting difference for one child and his or her entire community by providing access to basic life necessities-things like clean water, health care, education, and hope for a better future.

Here are some frequently asked questions about child sponsorship:

Q: What is child sponsorship and how does it work?
A: As a sponsor, you will be connected to one special child who will know your name, write to you, and experience your care in tangible ways. And you will help change the life of your sponsored child by enabling his or her entire community to find lasting solutions to poverty.
The caring commitment of sponsors like you allows World Vision to work side-by-side with communities to provide children and families with access to basic life necessities-things like clean water, health care, education, and hope for a better future.

Q: What is HopeChild sponsorship and what does it provide?
A: Fifteen million children have already been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS-the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. As a HopeChild sponsor, you can provide life-saving help and lasting hope to a child living in a community devastated by this pandemic. Your monthly pledge will show God's love by providing your sponsored child and his or her community with access to:
Clean water, nutritious food, and health care
Education and vocational training
Age-appropriate HIV/AIDS prevention training based on biblical values
Programs to mobilize local churches to provide additional care and prevention

Q: Do my donations go directly to my sponsored child?
A: World Vision knows that the best way to lift a child from a life of poverty is to help his or her entire community overcome its greatest challenges. To do this, they combine your gifts along with the gifts and donations of others to help your child's community make improvements that will save lives and build hope-things like a new well for safe water or a rebuilt school for eager students. A small portion of your monthly gift is also used to help children living in environments that are too unstable for a child sponsorship program.

Q: Is World Vision financially responsible with my sponsorship gifts?
A: World Vision's proven commitment to stewardship has earned the trust of more than one million donors across America. Their overhead rate has steadily declined throughout the last decade, and in 2004 was 13%. World Vision is audited annually by an independent accounting firm and they adhere strictly to the guidelines of the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, of which they are a charter member.

Q: How do I choose a child to sponsor?
A: When you sponsor a child through my campaign Web page, you'll have the opportunity to choose a child by gender, age, birthdate-even the country they live in.

Q: What information will I get when I become a sponsor?
A: You'll receive a kit with several photos of your sponsored child and information about his or her family, community, and country. Each year, World Vision will send a progress report and an updated photo of your child. You'll also receive regular statements to receipt your giving.

Q: Can I communicate with my sponsored child?
A: Your sponsored child will love to hear from you-and will write back! Your welcome kit will include full instructions about how to correspond, and World Vision will provide colorful cards to send your child at holidays and on his or her birthday.

Q: How does sponsorship show God's love to a child?
A: World Vision desires that every child experience the unconditional love that comes from God. The expression of this love is woven throughout the words, actions, and relationships of World Vision's staff. Wherever welcomed and in ways appropriate to the child, World Vision supports biblical teaching and works in partnership with local churches.

Q: How can I get a free Faith in Action Study Bible?
When you find sponsors* for 5 children through your Connect Your World page, we will send you a new Faith in Action Study Bible. World Vision and Zondervan have worked together to develop a tool to help Christians understand God's heart for the world. The Faith in Action Study Bible is a tool for applying God's word to modern life.
Federal tax law requirements indicate that your charitable contribution deduction is limited to the excess of the amount you contribute over the fair value of the Faith in Action Study Bible which we in good faith estimate to be $39.99.

Q: How can I get a chance to travel overseas to see World Vision's work?
If you connect 100 children with sponsors*, you could be eligible to visit a community benefitting from World Vision's work.
The value of a trip to a World Vision project is taxable income to you. World Vision will add 35% to trip cost for taxes. The taxable income reported to you, the IRS and any other applicable taxing authority will be the value of the trip and the 35% additional that will be paid to you. We will provide you more information as needed, but we are not able to give you tax advice.

How very true indeed. XD
----------------------------------------

It's not the fault of the student if he fails, because the year ONLY has 365 days.

Typical academic year for a student:

1. Sundays - 52 Sundays in a year, you know Sundays are for rest. Days left 313.

2. Summer holidays - 50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study. Days left 263.

3. 8 hours daily sleep - 130 days GONE. Days left 141.

4. 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means
15 days. Days left 126.

5. 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies(chewing properly & swallowing) - means 30days. Days left 96.

6. 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal) -
means 15 days. Days left 81.

7. Exam days - per year at least 35 days. Days left 46.

8. Quarterly, half yearly and festival (holidays) -
40 days. Days left 6.

9. For sickness - at least 3 days. Days left 3.

10. Movies and functions- at least 2 days. 1 day left.

11. That 1 day is your birthday. How can you study on
that day ?!?!?!?!?!

Balance = 0 " How can a student pass ?????"

Haha! :)

Love,
Amanda
